On Sept. 16, 2009, Children's National Medical Center announced the creation of the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation, focused on making children's surgery more precise, less invasive, and pain-free. The Institute was made possible by a $150 million gift from the Government of Abu Dhabi, the largest gift ever for pediatric surgery. Read more or view a photo gallery from the announcement.
